My expression of this college is beautiful. They do help you, as much as they can as well as the professors and instructers. I was appart of the autobody associates degree. Having to leave for reasons. But I'm dwfinetly going to finish my carrer here
Best school I have ever been to. Super affordable tuition. I inspire me to continue my education in a top school. I met math instructors who were there helping me all the step of the way from Devry and Texas A&M and I didn't have to pay that much. I am currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering but doing all my basics here and all my maths to save money.
Registering for classes can be a pain. Their online system is outdated, and sometimes certain classes (usually math) will move times after you register because the professor wanted to. So be sure to check your schedule often before classes start to make sure everything is fine. If not, make sure to hound the office to correct the mistake until the day it's done.
That being said, I don't regret my time here. I got great grades and graduated with honors with a certificate. In the end, I got all of my gen. ed. college classes out of the way before I graduated high school without paying a dime. All of my credits transferred easily, and I successfully graduated from a 4 year university with my bachelor's. So, thanks TSTC - you made my life significantly easier in the long run!
The regular full and part time student body, in general, never seemed to care much about their education. It's rare to find someone serious about getting a career or transferring to a 4 year college in the general education courses. It was pretty common for me to hear a 30 year old complain that a simple introductory government course's exams were too hard, when a few minutes prior they bragged about never studying. And when I was taking an accounting class, one guy was clearly copy/pasting answers from the internet on our classes's discussion board online - and even after I responded to them saying that they plagiarized work twice from someone else with proof (twice), the professor never took action. Additionally, there are quite a few students that stick around here FOREVER because they can't figure out what they wanna do or keep failing simple classes because they never apply themselves and take it seriously.
Professors were often flexible and easy to talk to, which was nice. If you had a legitimate reason to need an extension or to take a test later it was pretty easy to work something out. Unless it was a popular class that everyone is required to take, class sizes were typically small (10-20 people, ~80 in lecture halls).
Quality education at low tuition rates. Friendly faculty and staff. Plenty of services and events for students and their families throughout the year. Completed my AAS. Biology here to transfer out. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a top notch entrance institution.
Never attended here, have visited though.
I attended here via dual enrollment for 4 years, and took normal college classes on campus during high school. While I wouldn't say the material in tests and assignments were ever challenging for me (though I've never really struggled in school), the education was still fine and on par for what you'd expect from a community college.
