We use this business on a monthly basis for our two dogs. The new owners have "spiffied" the reception/office area & it looks great. It looks & is neat & clean. They treat customers & pets professionally; their pet grooming is outstanding! Pricing is also very reasonable. An excellent choice to groom or board your pets!!
They only charged $60 for three nights, which is quite inexpensive, but I would have rather paid more money to know my dog would have been taken care of and had comfortable accommodations. I may even end up spending a significant amount more if I need to take her to the vet. Hoping that this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Just took my Yorkie for a nice haircut and grooming. He looks wonderful, we are very pleased with their service. They have also done in home sitting for my 4 dogs and 2 cats while we were out of town twice and done a great job. Very pleased.
Loved the friendly and professional atmosphere. My dog appeared to have had as positive experience (as much as a dog could have), because when I picked her up she was in good spirits......TOTALLY different than the place we had been taking her. Good job guys!!
In addition to the ear mites and infections, her stool sample was doughy and slimy. She did not eat for a full day after picking her up. Moreover, I noticed that she lost some weight.
Hesitant to go back! I left my dog at the Valley Pet Motel for close to 2 weeks. After picking her up, and taking her home, I noticed that she had fleas and ear mites. I spent the entire weekend cleaning her ears as it was infected. Eventually, she developed a nervous tick (eyes jerking left-to-right almost seizure like, head tilted, unable to balance) because the infection spread to her inner ears. I called my vet and took my dog to the Pet emergency hospital. This all happened within 2 days after picking my dog up.
I would not recommend. I was visiting South Padre for the weekend and needed a place to board my dog for three nights. I looked at the website and saw a photo of the suite, so I was happy to have found a place that looked decent. When we arrived, I was a little skeptical because it didn't smell very clean. I asked if I could see where my dog would be staying and they led me to a hot room of small kennels and lots of barking. It resembled a humane society. They then told me that the A/C was down and this was the only option- which number one, looked NOTHING like the photos I saw online and two, was not mentioned when making the reservation. At that point, I grew really nervous but I didn't really have much of a choice.
I left my dog there for three nights and when I picked her up, she smelled horrible- like a dirty gym towel. I also noticed a really bad rash under her left front leg. These two factors led me to believe that she was wet all weekend and wasn't ever dried off. We asked to speak to a manager regarding the rash and he said it was a result of her scratching, which I don't believe to be true since she that area is out of reach for her to scratch/bite. I will be monitoring her for a little while because I'm concerned about the rash and fleas/ticks.
